It’s finally May! This month has felt like the longest month so far for me but I think that’s because I’ve just been wishing it away. I can’t wait to leave my uni house and go back to happiness at home and for my exams and assignments to be over in a few weeks.
This months playlist is full of a wide range of music genres but I love each and every song.
You may recall I Fall Apart being in January’s playlist but I’ve broken my own rules slightly and put it into this playlist too. My reason behind this is that Liam still doesn’t stop singing it in the car and since he’s been away, one of my fondest memories of him has been that.
H.O.L.Y is another song that Liam thoroughly enjoys belting out in the car, hence why it’s in the playlist. Unfortunately, I don’t have a video of him singing it but I’m sure I’ll get one someday.
Next up, is a song called No Roots which has been stuck in my head all month. Liam first introduced me to this song when he said it had been stuck in his head too. Apparently, Radio 1 had been playing it repetitively as they do when they’re trying to plug new music. But, I love this song and I may start listening to more of Alice Merton’s work.
Liam also introduced me to the songs Candy Paint and Somebody. I absolutely love Post Malone’s music so I fell in love with Candy Paint instantly. I think I just find it relaxing. Somebody is also relaxing and I’d heard it before but since adding it to my music, I’ve listened to it more and more.
I found Stay Together and Sniper through Spotify’s radio stations and I love getting ready to both of these tracks. I’m not sure what it is about them; it’s not the lyrics because I haven’t even learned them all yet.
Meant To Be has been on the radio so much this month, I feel I’ve been forced to listen to it but I don’t mind because it is a truly great song.
Ed Sheeran was plugging Anne-Marie’s song 2002 on Instagram because he co-wrote it. So, I listened to it right away because… Ed. I love the lyrics to this song and you can definitely tell Ed has had an influence on it. It’s beautiful.
Finally, how on earth could I write the April Playlist without putting the Walmart Kid in? He’s released his first track called Famous and it’s genuinely really good! If you haven’t listened to it yet, please do.
Let me know what songs you’ve been loving this month.
