After a glitch last night, causing my blog to be down for over an hour.. I was so worried I wouldn’t be posting this today.
What a stressful month!
I’ve had so many exams, deadlines and plans but not to worry. This hasn’t stopped me from listening to plenty of music.
Here is this months playlist:
As some of you may know, my boyfriend has had a big influence on my music over the past few months. Currently being in a long-distance relationship has caused to me listen to more of Liam’s music favourites because I’m missing him more than usual.
Liam introduced me to Winterbourne many months ago but at the beginning of the month, he linked me to their song Leaves. For some reason, I was particularly emotional that day and I found myself crying at this song and since then I’ve found myself becoming attached to its lyrics. So, for sentimental circumstances, it finds its place in this months playlist.
The next song Liam recommended to me this month was Agape – a very beautiful song. I’d never heard of Bear’s Den before but this song is really good so I’ll be likely to check out some more of their music.
When Liam flew home briefly to see me, he played some My Chemical Romance on one of our car journeys. I’m not a huge fan of this band, certainly not in the way that Liam is, but the song Teenagers stuck in my head all day. I’m not ashamed to admit that I’ve listened to it a few times since. You see what I mean about Liam having a huge influence on my new tastes?
Dry Your Eyes is an absolute classic but it is in this playlist because I recently bought Liam tickets for The Streets for his birthday. He’s aware of this so there are no worries about me including it in the post. Dry Your Eyes is my favourite of their songs so I’ve been loving it just as much as I always have.
Psycho is a song that I’ve been personally loving and that has been played over and over again on the radio. However, I’ve been singing non-existent lyrics by accident because I never knew the real ones. Now that I do know the actual lyrics, I’m still finding myself singing “damn, I hate being called a psycho” rather than “Damn, my AP goin’ psycho.” Oh well.
I discovered Kiwi because it was on one of my friends Snapchat stories and then I checked it out. I’ve always loved Harry Styles’ voice so it’s no surprise that I’ve been loving this song. But the beat behind it is also really great.
I came across Sam Fender on Spotify radio and my two favourite songs of his are Start Again and Friday Fighting. I think I found Liam enjoying these two songs too, so maybe I can influence his taste somewhat. I discovered Friday Fighting on a Friday so that was particularly satisfying and I’ve been loving these two songs while I get ready each day.
Shotgun has been getting me extremely excited for Summer. I’m not sure why but it gives me major Summer vibes and although my hayfever has been horrific lately, I don’t care. Bring on the sun!
Finally, as a massive Arctic Monkeys lover I was so hyped about their new album release. I very rarely buy albums but I pre-ordered theirs because I was so excited. It’s so chill, it’s perfect to listen to on an evening with a glass of wine. It really calms me down after a long day. I know a lot of people are hating it and I get its not to everyone’s taste and it’s very different to their last album release. But whatever, I love it. The Ultracheese is my favourite of the songs and I particularly love the lyrics.
What do you think of this month’s picks and what music have you been loving recently?
