If you hadn’t guessed by the title. This blog post is based around the number one.
Let me clarify…
One year ago today, my 1st blog post went live. It was a movie review about the film All Eyez On Me. That’s where my blogging journey began.
This is my 100th blog post, which is quite incredible for me to think about. 100 blog posts in a year!
Also, today it is my wonderful partner’s birthday. Unfortunately, he is 22, so there are no number ones there but he is my number one… (cringe). Happy Birthday, Liam, as I know you’ll be reading this!
So there’s for sure a lot to celebrate today!
Now, let me talk to you about my blogging journey.
I wanted to blog for years but I never had the confidence to do it. Then all of a sudden, I decided to bite the bullet and it was nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be. I began writing blog posts reviewing films I’d seen, adventures I’d been on and the things I liked doing.
If I’m honest, I never had a plan for my blog. I didn’t have a niche. All I want is to have a personal space to write about anything I feel like. Over the past year, I’ve realised there’s nothing wrong with that. I’ve taken part in tags and awards which were so fun and made me feel involved in the blogging community, I’ve written about personal things which I now feel comfortable sharing and I even tackled my first Blogmas which was a real challenge amongst revision. But one thing I’ve definitely loved the most is creating my playlists. These music lists really reflect how I’ve been feeling in a particular month and I love to look back at these and reminisce on good times. What I never thought would happen is featuring guest posts on my blogs and collaborating with other writers. It’s been great to share my blog with others and to create a much wider range of content.
I’m not one to care about the stats and although mine have improved slightly over the past year, I blog for me. Having said that, I am SO grateful for the support I’ve been given throughout my blogging journey. In August of last year, I joined a Twitter messaging group with some fellow bloggers I’d met on the site. Since then, we’ve all learned so much about each other and are all eager to meet. While distance may keep us apart, blogging brings us together. I’ve watched them all improve on their blogging and some of them even starting some amazing Youtube accounts. I’m so proud of every single one of them so this is a shoutout to these amazing ladies:
Thank you all!
While some people may have lost faith in me over this past year, I’ve gained new blogging and personal friends and met the love of my life so things are definitely on the up for me. I’ve definitely improved on my writing skills, my photography and my confidence over the past year and those are great achievements for me. I can’t wait to look back on this next year and hopefully will have made even greater steps.
