We’re officially over halfway through 2018. How crazy is that? Also, it’s now under 2 months until I should be able to see my boyfriend again and I can’t wait! 6 months apart is torture.
This month has been the easiest so far in picking ten favourite songs. In fact, I had chosen all ten by the 19th. Here they are:
You Are The Reason was added only three days in for similar reasons to why Punchline was added last to my June Playlist. My friend who I sing karaoke with introduced me to this song and I’ve loved Calum Scott for a long time so I automatically fell in love. I recommend watching the music video to this song too – big fan. I just like the way it has been filmed.
If You’re Over Me is super catchy and it has been played A LOT on the radio this month. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed singing it in the car.
Amazing Grace popped up on Spotify Radio when I had my headphones in on the walk home from the train station after the blogger event I attended. I’d never heard of Jack Walton before but I love the lyrics of this song and he has a really relaxing voice. Ever since then, I’ve listened to this song while getting ready.
5SOS have released new music and that made inner-pop-rock me very happy. While Youngblood has been played to death, I’ve appreciated Ghost of You much more. I feel like this is because the lyrics mean more to me and I prefer the beat of this song.
If you refer back to last month’s playlist, Liam recommended me to listen to The Harmeleighs’ song I Keep Ticking On and he’s been at it again. He sent me two more of their songs: I Found Myself In You and Hesitate. While normally I’d choose one or the other to include in the playlist, I just couldn’t decide. They’re both very different songs and I love them both. I Found Myself In You really reminds me of Liam and our relationship while Hesitate is just a beautiful song but has less meaning to me personally. Which one do you prefer?
In July, I stayed in Lincolnshire for a week and found myself listening to a lot of Radio 1 like the old days. This guided me to fall back in love with the song All The Things She Said which is just SO catchy. It was stuck in my head for the whole week. It also introduced me to some new favourites. I’ve never been a huge fan of Blossoms but I’ve heard a lot of good things about them. Their song There’s A Reason Why really caught my attention and now I really want to listen to more of their music. I was aware that Panic! At The Disco had released new music but I never thought to listen to the tracks. However, when Radio 1 repetitively played High Hopes, I was really feeling it. I found myself dancing around the lodge to this song!
Finally, I want to say a huge thank you to @hannatalks who recalled me being obsessed with The 1975 and hit me up with their new song Love It If We Made It on the day it was released. I LOVE IT. It’s just as catchy as Give Yourself A Try and I am so ready to see them live when they announce tours.
What songs have you been loving this month?
