Exploring the Wonderful World of Weymouth

This is a collaborative post and after working on this, I really want to go to Weymouth!

When you think of Weymouth in Dorset, you might think that all it has to offer is a beach; you would be extremely wrong. Recently you have been wondering what it would be like to embark on a British adventure that isn’t a bustling city. You can enjoy London at certain points, but right now you are looking to truly unwind and relax. Weymouth should certainly be next on your UK travel bucket list, simply because of the array of activities you can try out. Of course, the brilliant beaches will be a highlight, but you also have a whole host of other opportunities right at your fingertips.

Cutesy Cottages

What better way to spend a relaxing weekend than in your very own home from home by the beach? You might not realise that Weymouth has idyllic cottages near the sea that you can stay in with friends, family or your partner. You will feel completely at ease in your rental cottage, looking out at the Caribbean-like white sandy beach. You will find so much more to do whilst you’re holidaying in Weymouth too from the famous Portland Bill Lighthouse to the very waters where the 2012 Olympic sailing race happened.

Trails and Treats

If you love exploring the beauties of nature then the trails in and around Dorset would be the perfect activity for you whilst on holiday. Take a picnic along with you and visit the beautiful Conservation Centre. They run regular events and activities for every age to enjoy, so check out their website before you go. You could even take part in a self guided treasure hunt, whereby you get to explore the entirety of Weymouth in a unique, enjoyable and creative manner.

Brilliant Beaches

Just because you’re in the UK it doesn’t mean the beaches aren’t exquisite; the sand is arguably more golden than those in Tenerife or other European tourist hotspots. The three mile stretch of beach gives you plenty of room to walk, explore and relax. You might also want to pay a visit to Sandworld in Weymouth to see some of the most outstanding sand sculptures from around the world.

Marvellous Marine Life

Find out what’s inside the Sealife Centre at Weymouth and enjoy feeding sessions with the beautiful creatures. Whether you adore stingrays or love to look at sharks there are hundreds of marine mammals just waiting to be visited. Bring out your inner child and walk under the ocean tunnel and even take a ride on the attractions!

Whether you are seeking out fun with the family or a quiet getaway with your significant other; it’s time to try something new and visit the wonderful world of Weymouth. If you love being in the fresh air, soaking up the seaside and exploring nature at its finest, then this will certainly be the trip of a lifetime for you. So grab your best travel buddy, pack your suitcase and head to the divine destination of Dorset for a completely innovative experience.
