This month has flew by! I can’t believe it’s September already; it feels like only yesterday I was writing my July playlist.
I feel like most of the songs in this month’s playlist reflect my life perfectly at the moment.
Here are my choices:
Now, here’s what I mean by my music really reflecting my life this month…
Boys, New Rules, Friends, Want You Back, Tears Dry On Their Own and Back To You. I think it’s clear to everyone reading this, that I’ve gone through a break-up recently. Charli and Bieber’s thoughts and Dua’s rules became very relatable. But, I’ve still been bopping to these in the car without actually being upset because they have such a good beat. They always seem to be on the radio whenever I’m travelling. I think they might be haunting me. I’ve been particularly loving Boys because Charli has sampled the Super Mario Bros sound throughout the whole song. I don’t know how she managed to pull that off, but I love it.
Want You Back has been a favourite of mine for a while but I’ve been listening to it more recently while I’ve been getting ready. Haim have some really amazing songs and I feel like they’re so underrated.
Amy is just an absolute icon. Tears Dry On Their Own has got me through a lot this month.
I’ve been really loving Little Mix’s version of Reggaeton Lento. I’ve been trying to appreciate the last few weeks of summer and this song has amazing summer vibes. I’m still trying to learn all the Spanish lyrics though.
I can’t have a monthly playlist without some Ed in there. Biblia Be Ye Ye also has summer vibes and I love dancing around to this in my bedroom, whether that’s something I should admit to or not.
She’s On My Mind is a very new favourite. I didn’t like it when I first heard it but it’s started to grow on me and I’ve been listening to it a lot lately.
That just leaves Business. I’ve recently regained lost friends and have been reminiscing on old memories. I saw Catfish live in August last year and I’ve been having a throwback listening to their albums recently. Business is my all time favourite Catfish song.
Let me know which songs you’ve been loving this month in the comments below, I’d love to hear them.
